If you find yourself craving something sweet yet wholesome, homemade desserts can be a better choice. With just a few simple ingredients and minimal effort, you can whip up a cleaner version of this classic dessert, ideal for a relaxed baking session without sacrificing flavor.

Preksha Jain, a fitness influencer known for her healthy recipes on Instagram, has shared a rich and decadent choco lava cake recipe that perfectly balances health and indulgence. In her Instagram video, she emphasizes that while the popular Domino's choco lava cake is tempting, it's not the healthiest option. Here’s her clean version!

Ingredients:

  • 40g oat flour or whole wheat flour
  • Unsweetened cocoa powder (to taste)
  • A sweetener of your choice (sugar-free options, monk fruit, dates, or honey)
  • 1-2 pinches of baking soda and 1 pinch of baking powder (or 1/2 tsp Eno)
  • Milk (just enough to form a smooth batter)
  • For the ganache center: 3 parts dark chocolate, 1 part milk

Method:

  1. Prepare the ganache: Melt the dark chocolate gently and mix in the milk until smooth and glossy. Refrigerate until it thickens.
  2. Make the batter: In a bowl, combine all dry ingredients, then gradually add milk while whisking to form a smooth batter.
  3. Assemble the cake: Pour half of the batter into an oven-safe bowl, add a spoonful of ganache in the center, and cover with the remaining batter.
  4. Bake: Choose your cooking method:
    • Oven: Bake at 170-180°C for 15-17 minutes until the top is set and the center remains soft.
    • Air fryer: Preheat and bake at 150°C for 15-17 minutes for a molten center.

Final touch: Keep an eye on the baking time as it may vary based on the size of your container. Serve warm for the best texture and flavor.
