Anil Kapoor Declines Political Offers Post Nayak Success

Actor Anil Kapoor recently revealed that following the success of his iconic film Nayak, he was approached by several political parties. However, the actor chose to decline these offers, stating that he lacked the dedication required for a political career.

In a recent interview, Anil reflected on the significant impact of Nayak, where he portrayed a journalist who becomes Chief Minister for a day. He noted that the portrayal resonated with many, prompting political parties to reach out to him.

Anil shared, “There were discussions, but I quickly shut them down. The offers typically come through intermediaries, and it’s clear they understand my lack of interest in politics.”

He emphasized, “If I were to enter politics, I would need to commit fully. I don’t feel I have that within me. I strive to give my all in everything I do.”

Despite gaining international acclaim from his role in Slumdog Millionaire, Anil reiterated that he didn’t want to take on a role merely for appearances. He stated, “I don’t want to use it as a photo opportunity. If I do something, it has to be with full commitment.”

The film Nayak, directed by Shankar, highlights the journey of an ordinary man stepping into the role of Chief Minister for a day. The film features a stellar cast, including Rani Mukerji and Amrish Puri.

Looking ahead, Anil Kapoor will soon be seen in the film Alpha, alongside Alia Bhatt and Bobby Deol, and in the action-drama series Subedaar on Prime Video, which is set to premiere on March 5.
