Anita Hassanandani Discusses Pay Cuts After TV Comeback
Anita Hassanandani, a prominent television actor, has opened up about the pay cuts prevalent in the industry following her return to TV after a four-year break. In a candid podcast conversation, she expressed her disappointment, stating, ‘I got less than what I used to get.’
Having previously starred in hit series like Kkavyanjali and Yeh Hai Mohabbatein, Anita recently made her comeback in the show Suman Indori. She highlighted the stark reality many actors face today, noting that they are often paid significantly less than before due to decreased budgets and an oversaturated market.
“Earlier, TV actors earned a fair amount, but that's no longer the case. Budgets have shrunk, and many actors are willing to work for less,” she explained. This shift was particularly pronounced post-Covid, as production companies cited financial losses due to the pandemic.
Despite the lower pay, Anita emphasized her commitment to returning to work, prioritizing her passion over financial gain. Her decision reflects a broader trend in the television industry, where many actors face similar challenges.
Before her role in Suman Indori, Anita was seen in Naagin 4 in 2020 and had brief appearances in other shows. Her recent participation in the reality show Chhoriyan Chali Gaon further showcases her resilience and adaptability in this evolving landscape.
