Barack Obama’s Clarification on His ‘Aliens Are Real’ Statement
Former US President Barack Obama recently clarified his viral comment about aliens. After saying, “They’re real but I haven’t seen them,” during an interview, his remarks quickly gained traction online.
In a podcast episode of No Lie with Brian Tyler Cohen, Obama seemed to confirm the existence of extraterrestrial life, leading to widespread speculation across social media platforms.
‘They’re not being kept in Area 51…’
In response to a question about the reality of aliens, Obama humorously remarked, “They’re not being kept in Area 51. There’s no underground facility unless there’s this enormous conspiracy and they hid it from the president of the United States.”
This lighthearted exchange sparked a lot of interest, prompting Obama to clarify his remarks the following day on social media.
Obama’s clarification
In his post, Obama stated, “I was trying to stick with the spirit of the speed round, but since it’s gotten attention let me clarify.” He noted that while the universe is vast and the odds of life existing elsewhere are high, the chances of alien visitation to Earth are low, emphasizing that he saw no evidence of such contact during his presidency.
The 44th president, who served from 2009 to 2017, reiterated that while he believes in the possibility of extraterrestrial life, there is no proof of alien visitors on Earth.
Obama’s past remarks on UFOs
This isn't the first time Obama has addressed UFOs. In a 2021 interview on The Late Late Show with James Corden, he mentioned that he had inquired with intelligence officials about the existence of alien specimens and spaceships, only to be told that there was no evidence of such facilities.
With this latest clarification, Obama aims to quell the viral debate on this topic, although the fascination with extraterrestrial life continues to captivate many.
