CBSE Announces CTET 2026 Exam Date: Key Details Revealed

The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has officially announced that the 21st edition of the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) will take place on February 8, 2026 (Sunday).

This crucial examination will be held in 132 cities across India and will be available in 20 different languages.

A detailed Information Bulletin will soon be accessible, containing essential details such as the syllabus, eligibility criteria, exam fee, examination cities, and important dates.

CBSE encourages all aspiring candidates to download the bulletin exclusively from the official website and to apply online through the same portal once the application process opens.

The CTET, conducted by CBSE on behalf of the Ministry of Education, is a qualifying examination for candidates aiming to become teachers for Classes I to VIII in schools governed by the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act, 2009.

According to the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is a mandatory qualification for teacher appointments. This initiative aims to set national standards and benchmarks for teacher quality, enhance academic standards in teacher education institutions, and reinforce the government's commitment to quality in school education.

CBSE emphasizes that candidates should prepare using authentic textbooks and the syllabus prescribed by NCTE. The examination process for CTET is designed to be open, fair, and transparent, where qualifying depends purely on merit and sincere preparation.

Candidates should regularly check the official CTET website for the latest updates regarding the exam.
