Daisy Shah Criticizes Election Campaigners for Firecracker Incident Near Her Home
Actor Daisy Shah has voiced her strong disapproval of a political party for their use of firecrackers during an election campaign in Mumbai, which she claims resulted in a fire in her apartment building. In an Instagram video, Daisy shared her experience of the incident.
In the video, she stood outside her apartment, pointing out the raging fire in a nearby flat. She asserted that the campaigners' actions were irresponsible, stating, "This is the result of bursting firecrackers on the street. People don't understand, and this is because of stupid government people." She noted that these campaigners were bursting crackers on the street before attempting to enter each apartment.
Expressing her frustration, Daisy exclaimed, "Where is the civic sense of the people? Really! Those people have run away. There were 200 people here." She also questioned nearby residents about whether they had alerted the fire brigade.
In her post, she wrote, "I have got nothing to do with any political party!!! But when you hire teams to run campaigns for your elections, please ensure they have some common sense. Thankfully, our building committee refused their entry to go door to door." Daisy emphasized the importance of civic responsibility, criticizing the campaigners for their lack of awareness and accountability.
Later, she explained that the fire was a direct consequence of the firecrackers being burst near residential areas. She highlighted that her building's authorities had denied the campaigners permission to conduct door-to-door visits. "Bursting crackers next to the buildings is not the way to go about it. This is what happens when people lack civic sense. It's caused by brainless people. TAKE ACCOUNTABILITY … IT'S HIGH TIME," she added.
Daisy further clarified her mention of a political party, stating, "I did that so there is accountability and responsibility. If you have done all this for campaigns and there was a mishap from your end, then step into it, see what has happened and come to a conclusion because that poor guy has lost his house." She concluded her message by affirming her disinterest in politics, expressing her commitment to the welfare of the country.
Daisy Shah's career began as an assistant choreographer before she made her acting debut in the 2011 Kannada film Bhadra. She gained recognition in Hindi cinema with the 2014 film Jai Ho, and her recent projects include the 2023 film Mystery of the Tattoo and the upcoming web series Red Room.
