Delhi Nursery Admissions 2026-27: Key Dates and Details

The Directorate of Education, Delhi, has released the admission schedule for entry-level classes (Nursery, KG, Class 1) for the 2026-27 academic year.

According to the schedule, the admission process for open seats will commence on December 4, 2025. Below is the complete timeline:

Age Criteria for Admission 2026-27

Class	Age
Nursery (Balvatika 1)	3+ years up to 4 years
KG	4+ years up to 5 years
Class I	5+ years up to 6 years

The cutoff date for age determination is March 31, 2026. Schools may grant a one-month age relaxation upon request from parents. To seek this relaxation, parents must contact the school heads or principals with a manual application.

Acceptable documents for proof of residence include:

• Ration Card/Smart Card in the name of parents.
• Domicile certificate of the child or parents.
• Voter ID Card of any parent.
• Utility bills (electricity, water, etc.) in the name of parents or child.
• Aadhaar Card/UID of any parent.

Additionally, the DoE has clarified that admissions for EWS/DG/CWSN free-ship category students will not be processed manually by private schools but will be handled through a computerized draw of lots.
