Dev Maneria Announces Ahilyabai Biopic Filming in UP with Anushka Shetty as Lead

Actor-filmmaker Dev Maneria has officially announced the production of a biopic on the legendary Ahilyabai Holkar, set to commence filming in mid-2026 in Uttar Pradesh.

During a recent visit to Lucknow, Maneria revealed plans for the film, which will depict the life of the Maratha Empire queen. He expressed excitement about the project, stating, "We are celebrating the 300th anniversary of the queen, and it's the right time to make a film about her." In this film, he will portray her husband, Khanderao Holkar.

Maneria toured Lucknow, Prayagraj, and Varanasi to finalize filming locations. He stated, "During this trip with actor Daisy Shah, we plan to construct a set in Varanasi, which is apt for the main shoot. We will also film in Prayagraj and Lucknow. Some portions will be shot in Indore as the story is set there."

Although the full cast has yet to be announced, he confirmed that discussions are ongoing with Anushka Shetty, known for her role in the blockbuster *Baahubali*. "We are in an advanced stage of talks but have yet to finalize her involvement," he noted.

Maneria emphasized the importance of choosing Uttar Pradesh for the shoot, citing favorable vibes and good production support. He previously met with local officials to discuss the film.

Additionally, Maneria is preparing for the release of his upcoming film, *Bihu Attack*, where he stars alongside Daisy Shah. This fictional story celebrates Assamese culture and traditions.
