Discover the Unique Village Where Birth and Death Are Prohibited

In the remote archipelago of Svalbard, located about 1,300 kilometers from the North Pole, an intriguing social structure exists where giving birth and dying are prohibited. This unique regulation arises from the absence of hospitals and the extreme cold that prevents bodies from decomposing.

Travel influencer Radhika Nomllers recently visited this extraordinary place and shared insights through a captivating video. She pointed out that, due to the harsh environment, residents must leave the island if they become seriously ill or elderly, reflecting a community designed for the young and resilient.

Interestingly, Svalbard is also known as a visa-free zone, attracting people from over fifty countries who can live and work there without formal immigration processes, thanks to the Svalbard Treaty of 1920.

With polar bears outnumbering humans, safety is paramount. Residents often carry rifles when outside, and crime is virtually non-existent, allowing people to leave their doors unlocked and bikes outside without worry.

This village presents a fascinating blend of natural beauty, community resilience, and unique survival strategies, making it a compelling destination for those intrigued by life at the edge of the world.
