From Lucknow to Pinewood: Riccha Sinha’s Journey to Bollywood
Riccha Sinha, a talented model-turned-actor from Lucknow, has made her feature film debut in a British psychological thriller alongside UK actor Davide Tucci. The film was shot at the renowned Pinewood Studios in London, where she takes on the lead role.
Reflecting on her experience, Riccha shares, “We shot for three months starting last September. After completing my acting course in the UK, I began searching for roles through agents. I auditioned for several projects and was fortunate to land this one.”
She considers it a blessing to kick off her career with an international film, hoping it will pave the way for her Bollywood aspirations. “I never imagined my career would start with a project abroad. My primary focus has always been Bollywood, and it continues to be my goal,” she expresses.
The film, which Riccha describes as a psychological thriller, centers on a girl named Anya who relocates to a new country, encountering challenges and navigating her complicated life. “It’s a love story, but with a twist,” she adds.
Directed by London-based filmmaker Abbie Lucas, the project coincided with actor Tom Holland filming nearby, adding an exciting backdrop to the shoot. The movie is set to premiere at major film festivals globally before its wide release.
Riccha's previous work includes a Malayalam film titled Ramachandra Boss & Co, featuring Nivin Pauly, for which she performed an item song that has garnered over 50 million views. Although she received offers for more South Indian item songs, she is now focusing on regional film narratives and has even started learning Tamil.
Despite her recent success, she remains cautious about discussing future Bollywood projects, having once filmed for a movie that was never released. “I prefer to keep things under wraps until everything is finalized,” she says.
A former student of La Martiniere Girls College, Riccha began her career in beauty pageants, modeling, and commercials. It wasn't until after the pandemic that she concentrated on acting. Now, she is excited about the journey ahead.
