Giorgio Armani’s New Era: A Dazzling Showcase of Iridescent Colors
MILAN — Ricky Martin and Hudson Williams graced the front row on Monday for the debut of the Giorgio Armani menswear collection, now under the creative direction of Leo Dell’Orco, following the legendary designer's passing in September.
This collection was showcased on the final day of Milan Fashion Week, maintaining the essence of Armani's soft tailoring while introducing a modern twist.
The runway revealed a fresh color palette, highlighted by a loden green top paired with a textured jacket and gray trousers. Iridescent jewel tones in calming purples and lapis blues beautifully complemented the luxurious fabrics of velvet, cashmere, and chenille.
Classic Armani elements reappeared in bomber jackets and belted trench coats, matched with crisp white shirts and ties, alongside the signature pleated trousers. The looks were completed with slightly crumpled fedora hats.
Unlike his usual practice of minimal finales, the new collection featured a full walk-through, with Martin capturing the moment from the front row amid enthusiastic applause.
“It feels more energetic, infused with joy. It’s not just a new beginning, but a palpable sense of something fresh,” remarked Alex Badia, WWD's fashion and style director.
Carlo Capasa, head of Milan's fashion chamber, described the collection as “very modern.” He reflected, “I found the true spirit of Armani,” after the show.
After the presentation, Dell’Orco, Armani’s long-time collaborator, received a warm round of applause. Breaking from Armani's signature style of a simple dark T-shirt, Dell’Orco wore a stylish double-breasted suit without a tie.
