Income Tax Recruitment 2026: 97 Vacancies for Steno, Tax Assistant, and MTS

The Income Tax Department has announced a recruitment drive for 97 positions, including Steno, Tax Assistant, and Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS). Eligible candidates can submit their applications online at the official Income Tax website until January 30, 2026.

Vacancy Details

1. Stenographer Grade II: 12 posts

2. Tax Assistant: 47 posts

3. Multi-Tasking Staff: 38 posts

Eligibility Criteria

1. Stenographer: Candidates must have completed 12th grade or equivalent from a recognized Board or University.

2. Tax Assistant: A degree from a recognized University or an equivalent qualification is required.

3. Multi-Tasking Staff: Candidates should have passed Matriculation or an equivalent examination.

Selection Process

Selections will prioritize meritorious sportspersons based on criteria set by the Department of Personnel and Training. Candidates who have represented India in international competitions will receive preference.

Application Fee

The application fee is ₹200, payable online. Proof of payment must be included with the application.

Other Details

Candidates may apply for multiple posts in a single application but should submit only one application. Submitting more than one application will result in disqualification.
