Modern School Barakhamba Marks 105 Years of Educational Excellence
Modern School, Barakhamba Road, celebrated its 105th Founder’s Day on 17 October 2025, honoring its visionary founder, Lala Raghubir Singh. His ideals continue to inspire generations.
The event was graced by Chief Guest Ustad Amjad Ali Khan, a distinguished alumnus and world-renowned Sarod maestro. Joining him were Ms. Mira Pradeep Singh, President of the Board of Trustees, Ms. Ambika Pant, Treasurer, and other esteemed members of the Board and School Managing Committee.
The guests, accompanied by Principal Dr. Vijay Datta, visited exhibitions centered on the River Chambal, showcasing the creativity and technical skills of students. The YaRI initiative, led by Ms. Ambika Pant, promotes environmental stewardship, with the Chambal Project engaging students in the river's ecosystem and conservation efforts.
The day featured a stirring horse show, a disciplined Guard of Honour by the NCC, and performances by the School Band. The ceremony began with the lighting of a lamp and the singing of the School Song, followed by the Principal’s address and the presentation of the Annual Report. Students were recognized for their achievements, and the in-house musical production 'An Emotional Odyssey' captivated the audience with its themes of hope and resilience.
During his address, Ustad Amjad Ali Khan recalled his school days, sharing how Principal M.N. Kapur once encouraged him during a moment of self-doubt. He emphasized that the strong foundation built at Modern School empowered him to face challenges with confidence and grace, concluding his remarks with a heartfelt performance.
The ceremony concluded with a Vote of Thanks from Justice Mukul Mudgal, Chairman of the School Managing Committee.
