Pawan Kalyan Expresses Regret Over Past Film Flops, Vows to Make Fans Proud with OG

Pawan Kalyan, the renowned actor and Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, recently addressed his fans during a public event in Ambedkar Konaseema district. He spoke candidly about his film career, especially in light of his recent success with the gangster film, They Call Him OG.

During the event, Kalyan acknowledged that his fans had been feeling down due to his previous films not performing well at the box office. "I hear you screaming 'OG' there," he responded to the crowd. "I could’ve made a film like OG after 2004, but my focus was on societal issues. I dedicated my efforts to OG because I know my fans have been hurt by past failures," he explained.

He emphasized, "My fans haven’t been able to hold their heads high lately, so I decided to concentrate on cinema for once. While cinema is my livelihood, politics is my responsibility, a duty I chose to demonstrate my love for the nation."

Pawan also addressed the misconception that his earnings from films could resolve political issues, humorously pointing out that similar questions should be directed at the former Chief Minister.

They Call Him OG, which released in September, has turned out to be a massive success, grossing ₹293.65 crore worldwide. In this film, Pawan portrays a gangster named Ojas Gambheera, who returns to crime for the sake of his loved ones. Following OG, he is set to appear in Harish Shankar’s Ustaad Bhagat Singh.
