Prabhas’s New Scene in The Raja Saab: A Response to Fan Criticism
Prabhas's latest film, The Raja Saab, released on Friday but received a mixed response from audiences. Many viewers noted that certain scenes featured in the trailer were missing from the film.
In a press conference held in Hyderabad, the film's makers addressed these concerns and announced the addition of new scenes featuring Prabhas in an older look. Director Maruthi explained, "Prabhas fans aren’t disappointed with the film, but they aren’t entirely satisfied either. They were expecting to see him portray an older character with attitude, as shown in the trailer."
Maruthi also mentioned that he worked overnight to refine the second half of the film, including the missing scenes, which would enhance the viewing experience. He expressed confidence that fans would find the new 8-9 minute segment impressive, particularly a unique rooftop fight scene that Prabhas dedicated significant effort to.
Producer TG Vishwa Prasad revealed that a 4-minute sequence showcasing Prabhas’s older avatar was omitted due to server issues just a week prior to release. He assured fans that this content had now been cleaned up and sent to theaters without altering the film's runtime.
Despite the lukewarm reception, the producers expressed satisfaction with the film's box office performance, which surpassed ₹112 crore. They noted that families and children were enjoying the movie, while some critics provided mixed reviews. Vishwa remarked, "We had hoped to exceed ₹100 crore, and it's clear that many audiences appreciate the film."
Maruthi echoed this sentiment, urging viewers not to prejudge the film based on initial reactions. He acknowledged the mixed feedback, especially from those who struggled to grasp the film's narrative, and apologized for any delays experienced during screenings.
