Rajpal Yadav Calls for Film Federation to Establish Investment Fund
Actor Rajpal Yadav recently addressed the media following his release from Tihar Jail, where he had been held regarding a ₹9 crore cheque bounce case. The Delhi High Court granted him interim bail, allowing him some relief as he navigates this challenging situation.
During the press conference, Rajpal expressed gratitude towards his fans and emphasized the need for the film federation to establish a formal investment fund. He stated, "I request the whole film federation to agree with an investment fund for film finance to go ahead. They should create a basic platform for foreign investors and actors to follow. This will facilitate smoother operations in the industry."
With 26 years of experience in the film industry, Rajpal highlighted the numerous financial agreements he has encountered, ranging from ₹1 lakh to ₹15 lakhs. He asserted, "If I had fought on the agreements, then why only one case? I am a man of ₹1500 crores and ready to support films, but the intention behind ₹5 crores in this case is wrong."
Details on the Legal Situation
The Delhi High Court granted him bail until March 18, with conditions including a ₹1 lakh bail bond. The court had previously mandated that Rajpal deposit ₹1.5 crore by a specific deadline to secure his release. After confirming the payment, his bail was granted.
In earlier hearings, the judge emphasized that celebrity status should not grant anyone leniency indefinitely. Rajpal's past failures to honor agreements were noted, culminating in a rejection of a last-minute plea for more time to arrange funds.
On the professional front, Rajpal Yadav is set to appear in the upcoming film 'Bhooth Bangla.'
