Sandeepa Virk Reveals Heart-Wrenching Experience in Tihar Jail

In August 2025, actor and cosmetologist Sandeepa Virk was arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) for her alleged involvement in a ₹6 crore money laundering case. After spending over four months in Tihar jail, she was granted bail by the Delhi High Court in December 2025. In a candid conversation, Sandeepa opened up about her traumatic experience in jail, expressing that she often prayed for death during her time there.

Describing Tihar jail as a place she wouldn't wish on her worst enemy, she recounted the mental and physical toll it took on her. "I kept questioning God and myself about what I did to deserve this fate," she said, reflecting on the harsh conditions and her emotional struggles, especially during visits from her parents. The pain of seeing her family suffer because of her situation was overwhelming.

Sandeepa described her time in incarceration as mentally and physically draining, claiming it severely affected her health. She noted the filthy conditions, lack of proper food, and how some policewomen treated inmates unfairly. Despite the difficulties, she maintained her innocence throughout the ordeal.

After her arrest, Sandeepa felt distanced from the film industry, stating that many people unfollowed her and distanced themselves, treating her as if she were a criminal. "It doesn’t matter; I know who I am," she asserted, emphasizing that true support comes from those who truly know you.

Her allegations stem from receiving proceeds from a crime linked to an investment scam, where a complainant was promised a lead role in a film in exchange for a ₹6 crore investment. The ED claimed that funds were misappropriated through her accounts and linked to property acquisitions.

Sandeepa’s story highlights the harsh realities of life behind bars and the stigma that follows individuals accused of crimes, regardless of their innocence.
