With the launch of his new show, Sangamarmar, on OTT platforms, he emphasizes the importance of simple, relatable narratives for families.


In an exclusive interview, Barjatya elaborates on the themes of his new show, which stars Sheen Savita Dass and Sourabh Raaj Jain. The title, Sangamarmar, symbolizes the enduring nature of love, drawing inspiration from the Taj Mahal's marble, representing a relationship that flourishes over 25 years despite life's challenges.


Shifting to Streaming


Transitioning to streaming late in his career, Barjatya believes that the medium does not compromise the quality of storytelling. He states, "We are here to tell stories, whether on film, TV, or streaming. Each platform offers unique opportunities to narrate diverse tales. While some stories fit a two-and-a-half-hour film, others require more time to unfold."


Barjatya has witnessed a shift in audience preferences, with crime dramas often taking the spotlight on OTT platforms. Yet, he sees this as an opportunity to present family-oriented stories that resonate deeply.


Marketing vs. Art


Despite his success, Barjatya expresses concern over the growing emphasis on marketing in the film industry. He notes, "Today, many young filmmakers prioritize weekend collections over artistic integrity. This focus on marketing can overshadow the true essence of storytelling." He urges creators to concentrate on their craft instead of succumbing to market pressures.


Barjatya concludes by stressing that true cinematic success comes from innovative storytelling rather than conforming to market trends. As he embarks on this new journey with Sangamarmar, he hopes to inspire a return to art-driven narratives in cinema.
