Special NRI Certificate Application Window for Indian Students in UAE

The Consulate General of India has introduced a special facility for Class 12 Indian students in the UAE who require NRI certificates for college admissions in India. This walk-in service will be available on April 4, 2026, at all BLS centres across Dubai and the Northern Emirates.

This initiative serves as a one-time exception due to the urgency of the situation. Students wishing to apply for NRI certificates must bring their Class 12 documents along with proof of college admission.

According to the official announcement from the Consulate General of India, eligible students can apply for NRI certificates without a prior appointment on April 4. They will need to present their 12th-grade documentation and college admission proof to secure an appointment.

Students are advised to arrive early as applications will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis. The Consulate will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as necessary.

In a related note, the Ministry of Education in the UAE has also extended distance learning for all nurseries, kindergartens, and public and private schools until April 17, 2026, prioritizing the safety of students and staff amid ongoing regional tensions.
