Supreme Court Criticizes Elvish Yadav for Snake Venom Controversy

YouTuber and Bigg Boss OTT Season 2 winner Elvish Yadav has come under fire from the Supreme Court regarding allegations of using snake venom at a rave party. The court condemned him for sending a negative message to society and exploiting 'voiceless victims' during a hearing on his plea against a complaint filed under the Wildlife (Protection) Act.

The Supreme Court expressed concern about the influence of public figures, stating, “If popular persons are allowed to use voiceless victims like snakes, it could send a very bad message to society.” The bench questioned Yadav’s lawyer about the implications of his actions, emphasizing the seriousness of wildlife protection laws.

Elvish Yadav’s counsel, senior advocate Mukta Gupta, argued that he was merely a guest at the party and that there was no evidence of drug use or illegal activity. It was claimed that the snakes seized were not poisonous, and Yadav was not present at the alleged location.

However, the opposing side highlighted that police rescued nine snakes, including five cobras, and discovered suspected snake venom linked to rave parties. The Supreme Court has asked for clarification on the process of extracting venom and its potential use in such events, with the next hearing scheduled for March 19.

This incident is not Yadav's first run-in with the law; he was arrested in 2024 after being booked for allegedly using snake venom at a rave in Noida, Uttar Pradesh. His lawyers previously argued that no narcotics or psychotropic substances were recovered, suggesting that the media attention surrounding him as a prominent influencer was disproportionate.
