In 2025, a remarkable shift in travel trends was observed as Uttar Pradesh emerged as India’s most-visited state, surpassing popular destinations like Goa and Gujarat. This revelation comes from Cleartrip's Unpacked 2025 report, highlighting a significant increase in travel bookings, especially among Gen Z, who exhibited a 650 percent growth in their travel activities.

The report notes a notable uptick in interest towards spiritual and nature-centric travel, with cities like Varanasi and the Andaman Islands witnessing a 20 percent rise in visitors. This trend has substantially boosted Uttar Pradesh's popularity, particularly with a threefold increase in stay searches for Prayagraj and a fourfold increase for Bareilly.

Travel Hotspots in Uttar Pradesh

Prayagraj, formerly known as Allahabad, is rich in cultural heritage and tourist attractions. Key sites include the Allahabad Fort, Khusro Bagh, and the iconic Triveni Sangam, where the Ganges, Yamuna, and mythical Saraswati rivers meet.

Meanwhile, Bareilly, a vibrant city in Western Uttar Pradesh, is famed for its exquisite cane furniture and Zari Zardozi crafts. Visitors can explore historic sites and indulge in the local culture, making Bareilly a must-visit for those traveling through the state.

The upward trend in solo travel was also noted, with Delhi and Bengaluru emerging as key launch points for trips to popular destinations like Himachal Pradesh, Jaipur, and Agra.
