The CTET, conducted by CBSE on behalf of the Ministry of Education, is a qualifying examination for candidates aiming to become teachers for Classes I to VIII in schools governed by the Right of Children to Free and Compulsory Education (RTE) Act, 2009.
According to the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE), the Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) is a mandatory qualification for teacher appointments. This initiative aims to set national standards and benchmarks for teacher quality, enhance academic standards in teacher education institutions, and reinforce the government's commitment to quality in school education.
CBSE emphasizes that candidates should prepare using authentic textbooks and the syllabus prescribed by NCTE. The examination process for CTET is designed to be open, fair, and transparent, where qualifying depends purely on merit and sincere preparation.
Candidates should regularly check the official CTET website for the latest updates regarding the exam.
