Cliff Richard Shares His Journey Through Prostate Cancer Treatment

UK pop star Cliff Richard recently disclosed that he underwent treatment for prostate cancer over the past year, but he is relieved to report that the disease has been successfully managed.

Richard, 85, shared details during an interview with ITV as he prepared for an international tour. He explained that the diagnosis came during a routine health check-up.

"They found I had prostate cancer, but the good fortune was that it was not very old... and has not metastasised. Nothing had moved into bones or anything like that," he told the show's audience, adding that the cancer is currently in remission.

In his message, Richard emphasized the importance of regular health screenings, urging men to take proactive steps with their health. He called for a national testing program for prostate cancer, highlighting the benefits of early detection.

Known as one of the UK's original pop icons, Richard has enjoyed a prolific career spanning over six decades. His recent tour, titled "Can't Stop Me Now Tour 2025," included performances across Australia, New Zealand, and the UK.

Born Harry Rodger Webb, Richard adopted his stage name in 1958 and quickly rose to fame with hits like "Move It" and "Living Doll." He also found success in film, starring in popular movies such as "The Young Ones" and "Summer Holiday." Richard's announcement comes at a time when health awareness is particularly relevant, especially following King Charles III's recent revelation about his own cancer treatment, which also emphasized the importance of early detection.
