Empowering Tribal Communities in Jharkhand Through Education: Insights from President Murmu

During a recent event in Gumla, President Droupadi Murmu emphasized the crucial role of education in advancing the tribal community.

She urged educated individuals to assist others in accessing various government welfare programs aimed at fostering inclusive growth.

Addressing the Antarrajyiy Jansanskritik Samagam Samaroh–Kartik Jatra, attended by many from tribal backgrounds, she stated, "Education is the key to development. It refines personality and opens doors to social justice and opportunities."

Murmu noted that while education is vital, many educated individuals tend to migrate to urban areas, leaving their villages behind.

"It's important for us to return to our communities and raise awareness about government initiatives and their benefits. Success of these schemes relies on public knowledge and participation," she added.

The event also saw the presence of Governor Santosh Kumar Gangwar and Chhattisgarh Governor Ramen Deka, among others.

President Murmu reiterated the government's commitment to the inclusive growth of tribal populations, mentioning several initiatives named after Birsa Munda aimed at ensuring basic needs like housing and education are met.

On the demand for a tribal university in Gumla, she expressed her support, highlighting the need for state government action.

Her visit also included participation in the Santali 'Parsi Maha' and celebrations for the Ol Chiki script of the Santali language, showcasing her commitment to cultural heritage.

The President's trip to Jharkhand underscores the government's proactive approach in addressing the needs of tribal communities and promoting education as a pathway to development.
