Bomb Threats at Two Delhi Schools: Investigation Underway
On Wednesday, two schools in Delhi's Sadiq Nagar and Laxmi Nagar reported bomb threats, as confirmed by the Delhi Police.
An ongoing investigation has been initiated. Additionally, Lovely Public Senior Secondary School in Priyadarshini Vihar received a bomb threat via email.
According to Aditya, a student at the school, the threat arose while they were taking an exam, prompting a swift evacuation of all students.
"We were in the middle of our exam when we were instructed to assemble outside. Upon arrival, we noticed students from various grades present. The police, ambulance, and fire brigade were on-site, and we learned about the received email threat. Thankfully, all students were evacuated safely," Aditya recounted.
Currently, teams from the Delhi Police, Forensic Department, and Bomb Squad are investigating the situation.
Meanwhile, several schools across the national capital also received bomb threats via email. In response, schools promptly issued notices to parents, requesting them to pick up their children as a precautionary measure. The notices detailed a phased dispersal of students to maintain order and minimize panic.
The Indian School informed parents, stating: "Dear Parents, the school has received a bomb threat via email. As a precaution, we are dispersing students according to the following schedule: Nursery to Class 2 at 9:30 AM, Class 3 to 5 at 9:45 AM, Class 6 to 8 at 9:55 AM, and Class 9 and above at 10:15 AM."
Ahlcon International School also faced a bomb threat, issuing a similar notice for early student dispersal and advising parents to coordinate with transport providers for a safe pickup.
The notice emphasized: "Dear Parents, due to an email threat received this morning, students will be released early at 11:30 AM. We prioritize student safety and appreciate your cooperation during this time. Authorities are being contacted for further guidance."
