High Court Demands In-Depth Investigation into Aastha Education Society Allegations

Jabalpur, The Madhya Pradesh High Court has mandated a comprehensive investigation into the financial irregularities alleged against the Aastha Education Society, which operates various educational institutions, including a medical college.

On October 9, Justice Vishal Mishra indicated that an audit report revealed financial discrepancies amounting to ₹200 crore, stating that no relief could be granted to the petitioners under these circumstances.

The society had approached the court to quash a First Information Report (FIR) filed by the state Economic Offences Wing (EOW).

The court observed that the FIR was based on audits conducted by reputable auditors whose findings are recognized by the government.

The reports highlighted significant financial embezzlement, necessitating a detailed investigation by the EOW.

The petition was submitted by society officials Shweta Chouksey, Jai Narayan Chouksey, Dharmendra Gupta, and Anupam Chouksey, who stated that the society does not receive any government funding.

Respondent Anil Sanghvi, a former member of the society, had previously filed a complaint with the EOW, which was dismissed.

The society contended that the current allegations mirrored earlier claims and criticized the EOW for proceeding without issuing a notice or allowing clarification opportunities.

The petitioners expressed concern about potential arrests.

During the court proceedings, the EOW presented the case diary and asserted that the investigation was in its preliminary stages.

After considering both sides, the judge ultimately rejected the petition.
