Rajasthan Schools to Begin New Academic Year on April 1
Kota, Rajasthan - Education and Panchayati Raj Minister Madan Dilawar announced significant changes in the state's education system during a press conference. The new academic session will commence on April 1, replacing the traditional July 1 start date. This adjustment aims to align the academic calendar with the administrative and financial year, benefiting students by allowing them to receive textbooks before the summer vacation for study during the break.
Additionally, parents will be notified via SMS if their child is absent from school, utilizing the registered mobile numbers on the Shaladarpan portal. This system is set to be implemented soon.
In a move to promote uniformity, both government and private school students will wear a standard uniform without a tie. The minister also announced plans to introduce uniform identity cards for teachers in government schools.
These decisions have garnered support from various government school associations. Mukesh Sharma of the Shikshak Sangh in Bundi expressed that the changes would facilitate a smoother academic year and foster equality between students in government and private institutions.
However, some private school representatives have raised concerns about the practicality of these changes, highlighting that private and government schools operate under different conditions and infrastructure.
Overall, the decision to start the academic session on April 1 and standardize uniforms has sparked a mix of enthusiasm and skepticism among stakeholders in Rajasthan's education sector.
