Upcoming Online Counselling for DElEd Admissions: Key Dates and Details

Online counselling for admission to the Diploma in Elementary Education (DElEd) Training program will kick off on January 12. The announcement was made by the Registrar of the Examination Regulatory Authority in Uttar Pradesh.

A total of 2,39,500 seats are available for admission, which includes 10,600 seats in 67 District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs) and 2,28,900 seats across 3,304 private and minority colleges statewide.

The DElEd program is a two-year diploma designed for individuals aspiring to teach in primary and upper primary schools.

Currently, 1,24,230 candidates have applied, indicating that even if all applicants secure seats, approximately 1,15,270 seats may remain unfilled.

The first phase of counselling allows candidates with ranks between 1 and 20,000 to select colleges from January 12 to 14, with allotments announced on January 15. From January 15 to 18, candidates ranked 20,001 to 70,000, along with those who couldn't fill choices earlier, can choose institutions; their allotment results will be revealed on January 19.

For candidates ranked 70,001 to 1,24,230, and those who missed previous rounds, the choice-filling period is set for January 19 to 22, with results released on January 23.

The second phase of counselling will occur from February 5 to 8, allowing candidates from other states and those in OBC, SC, ST, and special reservation categories who did not receive admission previously to fill their choices. Allotment results for this group will be announced on February 9.

From February 9 to 12, all candidates will get a final chance for admission. If candidates from reserved categories are unavailable, reserved seats will convert to unreserved.

Final admissions for the second phase will conclude by 5 PM on February 21, with online reporting and locking for admitted candidates to be completed by February 23. The DElEd training session is set to commence on February 24.
