Demi Moore Reveals Tom Cruise Was ‘Embarrassed’ by Her Pregnancy During A Few Good Men Filming
Demi Moore recently opened up about her experience while filming A Few Good Men, revealing that Tom Cruise felt 'embarrassed' by her pregnancy during the shoot.
During an interview at the New Yorker Festival on October 25, 2025, Moore shared that she was nearly eight months pregnant with her daughter Scout Willis at the time. "I think Tom was quite embarrassed," she stated. "I actually felt okay about it, but I could tell he felt that it was a bit awkward."
Moore noted that her situation was uncommon in Hollywood during the early 1990s, as few leading actresses were balancing motherhood with high-profile careers. "It's one of the many things that I felt didn't make sense, and I challenged that by saying, 'Why not? Why can't you have both?'" she explained.
Reflecting on her journey, Moore admitted she often felt pressure to demonstrate that women could successfully manage both their careers and families.
Moore on Balancing Pregnancy and Acting
Moore described herself as an 'overachiever' during her pregnancy, recalling, "I look back at that time now, and I go, 'What was I thinking?'" She faced the challenge of rehearsing while heavily pregnant and even breastfeeding shortly after giving birth.
She remarked that the Hollywood environment has become more supportive of mothers today compared to her experiences in the past.
Staying Active During Pregnancy
In preparation for her role, Moore stayed physically active throughout her pregnancy. "I did a two-and-a-half-hour hike the day my water broke, a 24-mile bike ride, and danced at a reggae club, which is why she came two-and-a-half weeks early," she shared.
Moore expressed pride that younger actresses no longer feel the need to prove themselves in the way she did, highlighting the industry's evolution towards supporting women in both motherhood and their careers.
