Who is Rod Wave?
Rod Wave is a 26-year-old rapper from Florida known for his unique blend of R&B and rap, often referred to as soul-trap. He has achieved remarkable success, with 11 platinum singles recognized by the Recording Industry Association of America.
Four of his six albums have hit number one on Billboard's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums chart, including his latest release, 'Last Cap,' which debuted in 2024. His song 'Sinners,' featured in a movie of the same name, has earned him a nomination for Best Song Written For Visual Media at the upcoming 2026 Grammys, scheduled for February 1.
Despite his musical achievements, Rod Wave has faced numerous legal challenges. Earlier this year, he was arrested in Fulton County on charges including aggravated assault and conspiracy to commit a felony. His attorneys argued that he was a victim of a robbery rather than the perpetrator.
