Mumbai Faces Hazardous AQI Levels: Celebrities Express Concerns
Mumbai is currently grappling with hazardous air quality, as the Air Quality Index (AQI) has surged to severe levels, particularly in areas like Chakala and Mazgaon. Residents are experiencing discomfort due to low visibility and harmful air.
Recent readings indicate that Chakala's AQI peaked at 255, while Mazgaon recorded 252. Other affected areas include Borivali East (219), Colaba (216), Powai (221), and Malad West (216).
In response to the crisis, celebrities are voicing their concerns. Arjun Bijlani remarked on the serious implications of the rising AQI, emphasizing the need for collective action to ensure cleaner air. He highlighted the importance of reducing vehicle use and adopting public transport as effective measures.
Sumbul Touqeer also expressed her worries about the adverse effects of pollution on daily life for actors who often work outdoors. She urged the government to implement preventive measures to combat the deteriorating air quality.
