IShowSpeed Celebrates 50 Million Subscribers in Nigeria During Africa Tour
US YouTuber IShowSpeed marked his 21st birthday in Lagos, Nigeria, while celebrating a major milestone of 50 million subscribers on his channel.
As part of his Africa tour, which began on December 29, he has been traveling through 15 countries and attracting large crowds at each location.
Rolling Stone recognized him as the Most Influential Creator of 2025, and Forbes estimates his net worth at around $20 million.
IShowSpeed started his Lagos adventure at Balogun Market, where he encountered enthusiastic fans requesting money. Surrounded by security, he commented, "What are they saying? It's like they're speaking English, but a different kind of English," as he swiftly departed the bustling market.
His next stop was Freedom Park, a historical site, where he had his first taste of jollof rice, a local delicacy, before visiting the renowned Nike Art Gallery.
According to fellow YouTuber Stephen Oluwafisayomi, IShowSpeed's tour aims to showcase African culture and encourage Americans to visit the continent.
At approximately 6 PM, while celebrating his birthday, he paused his convoy to witness his subscriber count reach 50 million, humorously burying his face into a celebratory cake.
While he may have highlighted some challenging aspects of the countries he visited, many hope his platform will inspire positive change and improvements in those regions.
IShowSpeed's Africa tour has included exhilarating experiences, such as racing a cheetah in South Africa and participating in a football match with 100 children in Angola.
