Arunachal Minister Advocates for Enhanced Reading Habits in Students

Itanagar, Arunachal Pradesh - Education Minister Pasang Dorjee Sona recently emphasized the Arunachal Pradesh government's efforts to promote innovative learning and encourage reading habits among students. This was highlighted during the inauguration of the Ziro Literary Festival at Saint Claret College in Lower Subansiri district.

The minister praised the festival organizers for their commitment to hosting such events annually, noting that they inspire students to develop a passion for reading and learn from experienced professionals.

The two-day festival, themed 'Celebrating Creativity for All,' saw the presence of MLA Hage Appa, Lower Subansiri Deputy Commissioner Oli Perme, and SP Keni Bagra.

Prior to the festival, from March 17, a series of workshops were conducted to provide participants with hands-on creative experiences. These included videography, graphic novels, poetry, and podcasting workshops led by various experts.

The opening day featured engaging panel discussions, including one titled 'From Fireside to Frame: How Old Stories Find New Forms,' moderated by Moji Riba, which gathered prominent speakers in the field.

Another discussion explored 'The Changing Landscape of Media: From Legacy Media to Influencer Culture to AI Content,' moderated by Karma Paljor.

In addition, an interactive session on 'Fear, Failure and Finding Your Voice' addressed the underrepresentation of Northeast-authored books in mainstream publishing.

The festival also included a creative workshop titled 'The Story Hidden in Ordinary Things' and showcased live music, food stalls, and exhibitions featuring workshop outcomes, creating a vibrant cultural experience.
