Delhi Government Opens 2025-26 Scholarship Applications for SC, ST, and OBC Students

The Delhi government has officially invited applications for scholarships aimed at students from SC, ST, and OBC categories for the academic year 2025-26.

According to the announcement, five state-funded schemes, along with several centrally sponsored initiatives, are available for eligible students enrolled in schools, colleges, and universities across Delhi. The deadline for submitting applications is April 30, and they can be submitted via the e-district portal.

Key schemes include the reimbursement of tuition and other mandatory fees for students in Classes 1 to 12 attending recognized schools in Delhi. This benefit is available to families with an annual income of up to ₹3 lakh, subject to certain academic performance and attendance criteria.

Additionally, a merit scholarship scheme has been introduced for SC/ST/OBC students pursuing professional, technical, and higher education courses. Financial support under this initiative ranges from ₹8,000 to ₹24,000 per year, depending on the level of study and whether the student is a hosteller or a day scholar. To qualify, students must have achieved at least 60% marks in the preceding academic year.

Furthermore, the government will award ₹25,000 to top-performing students from these categories under the Dr. B R Ambedkar State Topper Award across various disciplines in universities.

The 'Mukhyamantri Vidyarthi Pratibha Yojana' will provide annual financial assistance of ₹5,000 for students in Classes 9 and 10 and ₹10,000 for those in Classes 11 and 12, based on income and academic performance.

Moreover, the government offers financial aid to SC students pursuing higher education abroad at the master's and PhD levels. Selected candidates may receive up to ₹5 lakh annually, with a cap of ₹10 lakh for master's programs and ₹20 lakh for doctoral studies, contingent on eligibility criteria including income limits and age restrictions.

These initiatives aim to support students from underprivileged backgrounds, facilitating their educational journeys and enhancing access to higher education.
