Empowering the Future: President Urges Students to Support Developmental Growth

In a heartfelt address at the convocation ceremony of Fakir Mohan University in Balasore, President Droupadi Murmu emphasized the importance of students helping those left behind in the development journey.

She articulated that true societal growth encompasses the progress of every individual, urging students to commit to making a positive impact.

During her speech, the President paid homage to 'Vyasakabi' Fakir Mohan Senapati, sharing how his story 'Rebati' greatly influenced her during her student years.

Murmu highlighted that the National Education Policy-2020 underscores the significance of the mother tongue, guiding students to stay connected with their cultural roots.

"India possesses a rich tradition of knowledge, with our scriptures and manuscripts offering wisdom across various fields, including science and medicine," she stated.

She encouraged students to understand their past and present to shape their futures and contribute to the nation.

While congratulating the graduates, she noted that knowledge, passion, and commitment are key to gaining respect and recognition in society.

The President warned that while living a successful life is commendable, leading a meaningful life is even more essential, emphasizing the need to contribute to the welfare of others.

She commended Fakir Mohan University for its focus on research and community outreach, urging the institution to adopt five villages for development initiatives.

Recognizing the region's agricultural significance, she appreciated the university's efforts in conducting relevant research and training programs.

Murmu praised initiatives like 'Back to School' and 'Each One Teach One', which promote educational outreach and environmental awareness.

She suggested establishing a research center for marine life, particularly blue crabs, to leverage local resources effectively.

Stressing the role of universities in fostering inclusive growth and innovation, she affirmed that institutions should nurture critical thinking and ethical leadership.

In conclusion, she expressed confidence that Fakir Mohan University will play a transformative role in community engagement and educational excellence.

During the ceremony, 1,831 students received their degrees, and honorary doctorates were awarded to three distinguished individuals for their contributions to society.
